TAC Pause Stop
The TAC Pause Stop program encourages motorists to pull over, take a break and recharge so everyone can get to their destination safely.
Here are a few ways to avoid drowsy driving:
- Be sure to get a good night’s rest before you travel
- Take a break every two hours on your way
- Take a 15-minute powernap if you feel drowsy
- Share the driving where possible

Catch-a-Coach
Dedicated coach services are available to and from Phillip Island. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Catch-a-Coach webpage.
Grand Prix Shuttle Service
There are four Grand Prix Shuttle services that operate to/from the circuit from Gate 1 until 6pm:
- Cowes Central,
- Cowes West – Ventnor,
- San Remo – Cape Woolamai, and
- Rhyll – Silverleaves
Evening Shuttle Service
The evening shuttle service departs from the Grand Prix Circuit Visitor Centre Car Park from 6pm until midnight:

V/Line Regional Bus Services
V/Line operates a coach service from Dandenong Station to Cowes, the main township of Phillip Island. Please see the V/Line website for timetable and bookings (bookings are essential): V/Line Website.
South Coast Bus Regional Services
- Cape Paterson/Inverloch/Wonthaggi to Circuit
- Wonthaggi to Cowes

Trains can be taken to the following locations to link up with dedicated Catch-a-Coach services to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit:
- Southern Cross Station - Catch-a-Coach
- Ringwood Station - Catch-a-Coach
- Traralgon Station - Catch-a-Coach
- Warragul Station - Catch-a-Coach
Regional V/Line train services connect with the Melbourne suburban network at Southern Cross Station.

Dandenong Station connects with a V/Line Coach service to Cowes
Helicopter Transfers
The quickest and easiest way to get to the MotoGP™ Grand Prix of Australia is by helicopter! Leave traffic and parking behind as you travel in style between the city and the circuit in under an hour.
Professional Helicopter Services (PHS) offer charter helicopter flights direct to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from:
- Essendon Airport
- Moorabbin Airport
- Tyabb Airport
Helicopter Joy Flights
A Joy Flight will take you on two laps of the Circuit (approximately 6 to 9 minutes), providing a unique view of the Circuit and stunning photo opportunities of Phillip Island and the Bass Strait.
You can book a Joy Flight online by visiting our ticketing section. Pre-bookings do not lock you into a particular time or date, just keep hold of your voucher and present it at the helipad when you are ready to fly.
Joy Flights can also be booked in person at the Helipad outside Gate 7, or at the ticket sales booth located near the Fan Forum Stage.
Wondering how to get to the helipad at Gate 7 if you’re on the other side of the circuit? Holders of a voucher for the Joy Flights can catch a ride to the Helipad via the Hospitality Shuttle (yellow route).

If you are travelling by motorcycle or car from Melbourne, we recommend using Google Maps for the most up to date travel time and route.
Access to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from Melbourne is via:
- Citylink (M1) or Eastlink (M3) tollways,
- Monash Freeway (M1),
- South Gippsland Highway (M420) or Koo Wee Rup Rd (C422),
- Bass Highway (M420) and Phillip Island Link Road (B420),
- Phillip Island Road (B420), and
- Back Beach Road (C478).
From the Monash Freeway, signs will clearly identify the route to the circuit, which will include clear directional signs to the circuit parking areas.
For regular traffic reports, tune in to 3AW or Triple M radio stations.
Taxi
For taxi service on Phillip Island, please call (03) 5952 2200. The Taxi Rank is located at Gate 3, on Gap Road North. Please note, taxis are in high demand during the MotoGP™ Grand Prix of Australia 2026 weekend and long delays may be encountered.
Circuit Parking

Park and Ride
Parking in town at either Cowes or San Remo is also recommended. The Grand Prix Shuttle service can then take you to/from the circuit. For more details, see the Grand Prix Shuttle Service details under the By Bus tab.
